Who Are These Guys?

Cameron Selby, contributor
Cameron lives with his wife Abigail in Portland, Maine. Their daughter Cordelia was born at home on October 27th, 2010. Since Cordelia's birth Cameron has learned that being a good dad, or trying at least,  is a more complex endeavor than he ever thought it might be. He hopes to be able to share insights and ideas with other fathers and learn as much as he can as he watches Cordelia continue to grow.

Stephen Vernon, contributor
From the moment Stephen saw the result of the pregnancy stick, he was elated to become a father. When his son Mason John was born at home on October 17th 2010, Stephen knew two things: 1. Life was never going to be the same and 2. Being a dad is rad.
When he isn’t wearing his baby, Stephen is surfing, cycling, or playing in the mountains. His son Mason plans on joining his dad on every adventure. Stephen hopes this blog will become a place where like-minded fathers can learn from each other and share ideas and observations about what it means to be a good dad. Stephen lives with his wife Lesley, their son Mason, and their fur-ball cat Roma outside of Philadelphia, PA.

Benjamin Doerr, contributor
Benjamin and his family live on Bainbridge Island, in Washington state.  Both his children came with beautiful home births.  His daughter, Aria Mai, was born June 10th 2009, and his son, Ocean Grae, April 15th 2011.  Benjamin feels proud to be a young parent in the midst of a social movement that is bringing dads to the (changing) table.  A professional musician and part-time stay home dad, some of Benjamin's favorite moments with the little ones are walks on the beach, chasing the chickens, visiting the neighbor's llamas, hanging in the local cafe, and sharing a seat at the piano.

Matthew Harrington, contributor
Matthew shares a modest flat in the Friedrichshain district of Berlin with his wife Laura and daughter Leila. Initially, the emigration to Germany was intended as a brief European sojourn before “settling down” in the states. However, the couple soon fell in love with gritty charm of Berlin and decided it would be the perfect place to start a family. Leila Rose was born on a grey Friday morning in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin on Oct. 22, 2010, and since then has provided some much needed sunshine to help get through the harsh Berlin winter. Finding a comfortable equilibrium between work-life and family-life with an emphasis on quality time with Leila is a priority for Matthew, which the more laid-back European lifestyle affords. Matthew will offer insights into his own challenges in achieving this goal and additionally, an American perspective into how our brethren on the other side of the Atlantic approach fatherhood, parenting and family life in general.
